Design Challenge

How might we help the employee wellbeing management adapt users’ need and able to tailor individually for their lifestyle?

Research shows that the quality of EAP affects to employees’ participations at work. Moreover, including additional programs to encourage employees for caring their health will improve 20% more on their work.

Employee Assistance Program or also called as Employee Wellness Program is the program to influence employee health, mental wellbeing, performance and quality of life. The trend can be attributed to rise incidence such as high blood pressure, obesity, and cardiovascular conditions among employees.

Growing preference for employee wellness, availability of wellness providers, and rising investments by employeers especially during pandemic has been initiated to start the project.

Help Ü Well is a innovative EAP platform especially for MNCs highly focused on actual needs of employees’ physical and mental wellbeing.

What is EAP and why should the company care about?

Who are the key players in the market?

The segment of the EAP market could be categorized as online or offline program, also focused on either stress management or health screening, and positioning map of key players are drawn as below. size of bubble indicates their sales volumes.

in order to understand current situation of EAP system, the research has been conducted to understand their needs at different size of firms and any other feedbacks from existing their EAP systems.

I have failed to get fitness management through online, and it is quite frustrating especially Covid preiod.

I really wish to get better, qualified health screening and able to review previous records from the app

really want to have some kind of mental care programs for both online and offline. would be better if I could connect to professional figure like doctor?

definitely need some kinds of incentives or rewards for employees willing to constantly use

Reviewing SUS scores of 6 questions to check major concerns and preferred device. Top concerns were “health screening”, “stress management”, and “Fitness” . most preferred device was surprisedly ‘mobile’.

Key findings

Throughout the research, the size and type of existing EAP system matters employee to feel more royalty toward their company. the users hope to integrate with peers such as group exercises or chats to feelt more associated to its company.

Demending on better health screening to discover unconscious risck is very high and hope to find the way to constantly check and improve their health.

Design Iteration & User Testings

Initial concept has been designed with mid-fi prototype and usability test has been conducted to understand user flow in depth

2 key findings were resulted after the test

  • does not fully understand each features’ meaning and usage on dashboard
  • redundant information on dashboard and other menus

Based on the findings, some modification has been applied and created first hi-fi fedelity.
Another test was conducted with 2 users -one same user from previous test and the other new user.

  • overloaded color hard to understand
  • less interaction with each menus
